Catching windland feeding wild Tasmanian Rainbow Trout on a glassed out lake in the Central Highlands of Tasmania. Our 59mm Shallow Minnow is perfectly suited to this style of fishing and when cast into the path of an actively feeding trout it is rarely refused! All of the fish in this video were sighted feeding prior to making the cast. We would simply look for the fish in the slicks and windlanes feeding on the surface, sneak up on them quietly on the electric motor and then cast our lures into the path of the fish, roughly 3-5 in front of them. Once the fish swam up onto the lure we would commence a steady jerky retreive and the fish responded aggressively!
