Steven Wheeler

It was my father who introduced me to fishing, I can remember one Christmas when I was only 4 years old getting a rod and reel. Living in east Gippsland there was always plenty of options to fish. Whether it be chasing bream, trout whiting or dads favourite surf fishing! It was a good base that lit the fire.

These days I am passionately driven with new challenges in fishing, chasing new species, working out different venues and seeing the passion of my daughter catching personal best fish on lures are just some of the things that continue to fuel my passion.

I am also very comfortable with some of my life achievements… I married a great woman in Karen and have a couple of great kids! Working for myself has enabled me the freedom to pursue my passions quite often while most people are working. This has enabled me to visit some amazing places and meet some great lifelong friends.

My tournament achievements are modest I have been runner up in 3 Grand Finals including an Abt Bream Grand Final… I have had multiple top 10 finishes and a win in the Vic bream classics but this is still something I enjoy and continue to strive to improve!
